Whether you did it or not - its an undeclared mod - the responsibility is yours to declare it.

I did with my PRM but got a statement from the manufacturer stating no more than a 3BHP gain at the wheels. I believe the threshold is a 5 BHP increase.

I advised them I had changed the 'air filter' to lessen the impact of kangrooing.

I paid no additional premium as a result.

Yep - playing dumb could land you in the crap. They can and will use what they like against you in the event of a claim. An asessor will come to look at the car if you prang it, and they will spot it.
