I love my Scorpio
Much more comfortable than the S for the Edinburgh commute
Bit thirsty but thats my only complaint
cheap as hell to insure/service
2.9 v6 so no complaints when you need to overtake
course no substitute for snow tyres on the S in winter!

Kenny, you, like me and others bought the car because you love driving - forget the beater and just drive it!
ive thought about it before, and then thought, its a waste as im not enjoying it! Ok, you might get the odd door ding or whatever, but you could get them fixed annually for much much less than owning a beater!
Regarding miles, you could trade in every couple of years and get a newer one - cheaper than having a beater for 2 years?
You also have the risk of it breaking and costing you money.

Hmmm lots of arguments either way. Got a job interview on Wed that would totally eliminate the work use of the car so the problem may solve itself
