Should i change to the S2000
Hey guys, i'm new here.
I joined up to do some research and to search if anyone on here has moved from an EK9 (97-00 civic type R) to an S2000?
I have always fancied the S2000 but only now is car insurance reasonable.
Reason i'm asking is that i'm afraid that if i sell my EK9 then i'll miss the rawness and the 'fun factor' that the car has being a Type R hot hatch. Basically i don't want to jump into selling up and regret the decision a few weeks down the line.
Also, does anyone know how these cars compare round corners and in straight lines etc? I'd assume that the S2000 would be more comfortable for day to day driving having softer suspension etc.
Any advice would be great
cheers.

I've had an FD2 and an S2000, the FD2 was raw fun but the S2000 (particularly with the suspension mods) is more satisfying. The top down thing is also quite brilliant.

Easiest thing to do is to test drive one and make your own mind up!
I cannot imagine any avid S2000 owner and forum member would put you off buying one!
I moved from an EP3 CTR to the S2000 and it was a great step up for me!

Thanks for the replies! I've spoken to my brothers mate and he's happy to talk me round and take out his S2000 to see what its like.
Bit off topic but are the pre 2001 models any good? I *think* they don't have the glass rear screen but they would have cheaper tax and less strict emissions, yeah?
And they would fit in my budget (approx

I've been on this forum for just over a year and still learning about the s2000.
Read the FAQ there's a lot of information about the Model year differences in there and what to look out for in an older S.
Get along to a local meet (see the Meets section) and talk to some other owners.
Let us know where you are, I'm sure other members would be more than happy to give you a spin in their's.

I moved from a DC5 Integra Type R to a (Mk1) AP1 S2000. I found the DC5 easier to drive but the S puts a bigger smile on your face. (top down, hit VTEC through the Jack Lynch Tunnel. :-)
Also, more people seemed to appreciate the looks of the S. I've had comments from young and old about how good the S looks but only from the young about the Integra. It doesn't look as ricey maybe.
Also, found insurance to be a lot cheaper on the S even though it had more power, was more expensive and a soft-top. I guess it is because of the type of people who drive the two different cars!?
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
