Default Shin-Etsu Silicone grease

Well, winter is well and truly upon us, so it's time for our friend the hardtop to leave the garage see the light of day. Whilst the hardcore among us will be cursing the tough toppers, I felt it was a good time to implement a touch of maintenance therefore three questions: -

Is Shin-Etsu Silicone grease the only proper stuff to lube my roof seals etc?
and if so
Where do I buy it?
Can I get a quart of 303 protectant for less than a tenner?

Cheers.

shin etsu from your local honda dealer about 7quid ish. I think there are other makes of silicone grease you can use but I'm not sure what, someone else will probably say in a minute.

dunno about the 303, i used autoglym on my soft top at the recommendation of Mr Graves.

Get ithe shitsu grease from your dealer - it's not as expensive as you think, and a little goes a long way.

Honda Part number 08798-9013.

Some of the dealers though have no idea what you are talking about.

I know others have recommended alternative products to Shin Etsu grease, if you're struggling to get hold of it.

Hellfrauds stock 3-in-1 silicon grease whicn has been used (by Shiskine, I think). There's also a similar product made by Seaman.

Having used both Seaman and Shin Etsu - I would pay the 4-5 quid more for Shin Etsu - that seaman stuff isn't as good

Shin-Etse isn't exactly expensive. I got mine for just over 7 quid. And I'm sure it'll last a long time, you don't need a lot

It's thicker and does not "soak in" so well.
