Right Oh, I have the RS grease as mentioned above 284-404, and it works a treat , used hardly any doing all of the seals, so 50 grams is more that enough for many many treatments. Its clear and appears to soak in ok. I used a lint free peice of cloth to apply, left it for 10 mins and just rubbed over wth a dry cloth to remove any excess.
The thought about the roof mech and lubed all of the joints with GT85 bycycle lubricant , carefully and cleaned all excess off of the mech, and low the roof shot back and opened further than ever, was far snappier shutting and closed right up to the head of the windsreen.
New roof to be ordered tomorrow fitted in 2 weeks, cant wait!

Yes. Any part that is rubber. a littlegoes a long way.
Just rub it in.
Simples.
Look at the silicone grease that is used on diving equipment.
That will do just fine.
And you can buy of the internet. Tube form is better than spray.
( Shin Etsu is just a company name like Cadbury's, Nestle, Bosch etc )

I put on a pair of marigolds (other rubber glove brands are available) and covered my hands and fingers in the grease and then lovingly caressed and massaged all the rubber parts of my car.
I made sure to push the grease into all the nooks and crannies and crevices of the rubber and work it around to try and warm it up.
Grease on rubbers is like hand cream on dry hands – you don’t just put the cream on top, you need to rub it in so it absorbs.

Just spoke with my local Honda dealer and they are advising that they can get some identical grease made by 'Worth' I think he said - 150ml tube for £8.97 - time to get the marigolds out!

[QUOTE=andy2000,Aug 14 2009, 05:46 AM]I'm going to try and stop my leak from the window seals this weekend.
Read a lot of threads about using shin-etsu grease on the seals but can someone tell me where I can get this (is it just Honda dealers who stock it ? - local Halfords definately don't).
