S is more like 185.88 bhp per ton...
Depends on if you have a good one or not.

MY00s are the lightest and if your making over 250hp then your well on the way to 200hp/ton.

Off a roundabout to about 90 i pulled 4 car lengths on my mates 182, although I think mine is a 'fast' one.

Check the driver.

Obviously in the wet, you have to be mighty smooth and watch for impending doom of spinning.

In the dry, you can really make it dance, even on stock suspension (which is crap. No really - it is faaaaar too soft).

Changing the exhaust and removing the Spare wheel/toolkit has netted me 25KG weight loss easy. Manifold is next. so that will save me an extra 5kg.

Hopefully, with a tune on the E-Manage, I can get to 255bhp (up from 247).

I have lost half a stone since Christmas so that helps too!

Seriously now, I can't see any problem in dispatching a Clio in an S.

The power to weight figures are key here 170 vs 186 means there will be very little in it in a straight line, and if the Clio doesn't want you to pass, then you probably won't be able to.

0-62 is 6.9 secs for the Clio, an S2000 is 6.2secs.

On a rough and not that accurate, but it might help, constant acceleration calculation, that means that in the 6.2 secs of 0-62, the S2000 has travelled 86.1m, the Clio 80.9, a difference of 5.2m, or roughly one car length. On other words, there won't be a lot in it.

The modifications element has to be considered as well, who's to say the Clio isn't modded?

*4.57 final drive
*K&n filter mated with snorkle (Snorkle customised by me to remove restriction and seal against bonnet and airbox covered with heat resistance tape.
*decat
*magnaflow backboxes
*Spoon ECU
*Megan manifold
*Powerflex bushes - full geo done well nearly
*06 shocks/swift springs
*Engine torque damper
*Odd bits and bobs removed

I estimate 'around' 30-40kg weight loss.
Mine must be around the same although Christmas excesses mean that I need to strip at least another 15lbs or so to keep up with the expanding waistline...

Aye.. watch out there are a few turbo clios about, and yes.. they have traction issues

The main problem with the clios is the exaulst pipe rusting and falling off, replace with a stainless one, which is lighter and more free flowing releasing a few bhp. The other biggy is the gearbox is crap, its ok to use, but if abused falls to bits quite quickly.

However, some easy tuning, you can buy (quite cheaply) a quick plug in that ups the power by about 8-10bhp (I think) and with a stainless pipe should be seeing 196bhp ish.

One guy even put the classic TT engine in it..

Mcpherson struts and torsion bar.

Don't give a stuff if it has Ohlins dampers, its suspension system will never be as good as the S.

Yes.
OP thread should read:
"Shameful driver performance v Mrs clio"
Another thread for dreamers and those who can't drive an S2000 to its full ability.

Any twat can belt about in rollerskate, and if you are up against the 'Karate Kid' when out in your Honda, you ARE going to look a knob.

Sort the driver, sort the car, then sort out the FWD Frenchie fan boys.
