Shameful Performance vs Clio
#12
i think both cars have similar bhp/ton so don't be surprised, the clio is an easy car to drive at 10/10ths, the honda is not.
i like the clio but they are fookin unreliable and shat build quality, great hot hatch though

Agree with most of what's already been said - especially the tricky launch of the S, I just don't bother launching it at all any more.
My mate has a Clio Cup 172, I haven't driven it but the ride is very supple and the chassis has a very confident feel. It's clearly not as quick as the S but it's a nice enough car and a good choice to compliment his Caterham. I've managed to unnerve him a few times as a passenger in my S - especially with the cornering speed - he's actually tempted to buy one...
I'd go as far as to say that the S is a driver focused car to the point of the driver having to ignore other road users to truly enjoy it; expecting to beat all cars lower down the food chain will end in disappointment from time to time.
I always ask myself the question of whether the Audi TT is a quicker car than the S - which it is - but the whole package is ultimately inferior.

Performance Hondas require quite a bit of skill to drive quickly, i know i got mine as i wanted a challenge, if i wanted an easy option I'd have got something that anyone can jump into and drive fast. [Just my 2 cents worth]

What mods do you have now AJ?
*K&n filter mated with snorkle (Snorkle customised by me to remove restriction and seal against bonnet and airbox covered with heat resistance tape.
*decat
*magnaflow backboxes
*Spoon ECU
*Megan manifold
*Powerflex bushes - full geo done well nearly
*06 shocks/swift springs
*Engine torque damper
*Odd bits and bobs removed
I estimate 'around' 30-40kg weight loss.

Perhaps the quattro, but others
