Default Servicing the S2000

So, the S2000 is due a Service. Its a W Plate with 57k on the clock.

I bought the car from a Honda Main Dealer up in rochdale back in november, and got a 12 month Honda warranty on the car.

I've got some small rush pitts appearing on the alloys, and the clutch buzzes when not on the throttle going down through the revs at about 4k rpm.t

Reading the FAQ... I think I can get these replaced under the warranty.... anyone had any joy with this?

If that's a "Hondacare warranty" I wouldn't bank on alloys or clutch being covered - probably best to ask the dealer to pay and then sue via small claims when they refuse - assuming you bought the car less than 6 months ago the onus of proof of lack of faults rests with them.

if your on about the dealer I bought it from, forget it.... too long to explain in this thread, but i'll do so soon.

the dealer i'd be asking to do the work would be crown honda, bushey, but I guess the warranty is a honda uk thing

Hondacare won't pay so don't assume that they will - you could end up with a big bill. I think you'll find that wheels are excluded from cover and the clutch will only be covered for "mechanical failure" (which I'll bet

conanius, please read the documents you were issued relating to the Hondacare Guarantee. It should read like this;

Item 6.1 Cover Level 1 (HN3 Guarantee Type)
6.2 All Mechanical and Electrical
Components
6.3 Plus:
6.3.1 All oil seals.
6.3.2 Casings: Damage caused to casings as a
direct result of the failure of a covered
Component.
6.3.3 Working materials: Working materials
where replacement is essential as a
direct result of the failure of a covered
Component or Components.
6.3.4 Catalytic Converter following the failure
of a test of exhaust gas to meet any
exhaust emission standards.
6.3.5 Integrated Motor Assist Pack (Honda
vehicles only): The Integrated Motor
Assist Pack is covered under the terms of
this Honda guarantee until the vehicle
reaches a maximum of 8 years or 80,000
miles from date of first registration,
whichever is the sooner.

6.4 But excluding the following items:
6.4.1 Body, paint, glass, interior/exterior trim,
in-car entertainment communication
systems and connected
equipment/batteries/ exhaust systems
and airbags.
6.5 The cost of normal servicing, service
items and adjustments. Similarly, items
which can be expected to wear as part of
their normal function are not covered
unless there is a manufacturing or
material defect (such as clutch plates,
brake friction surfaces, wiper blades,
tyres, bulbs, fuses, etc.).
Firstly your wheels will not be covered as they are not regarded as a mechanical or electrical component for the purpose of the guarantee and you have stated that they are showing corrosion, again not mechanical or electrical, it is regarded as wear and tear.

Secondly, there is no failure of the clutch, just a noise and item 6.5 covers this as a clutch is a wear and tear item.

Mikdys is mostly correct in what he says although if you have a claim turned down by the administrators and you feel it to be unjust then you have the right of appeal and the instructions on that procedure are on page 4, column 3 of the Terms and Conditions.
