Service costs
Just a quick one this, what are average service costs of a s2k? And how often are they? I've been reading different things from all over. Would of done a search bt there doesn't seem to be one on the iPhone native. Thanks

Service interval is every 9k miles or 12 months whichever comes sooner.
Costs vary depending on whether you use a Honda dealer or an independent, but even with dealers you should ring around. For a standard service by a dealer expect to pay £160-200 and £300-400 for a major service. You can cut the cost by providing your own oil.
Hope that helps

Wow. I thought the service costs would be a little lower then that. It's very close to the service costs of a BMW z4 3.0!! tho i suppose it could be a bit lower if I search about like you suggest. Thanks for taking the time to help me out! :-)

I paid £97 for a minor service (glorified oil change and a load of checks really) at Honda Gatwick.
Theres 4 tiers of service going up to about £324 for full service (incl tappets, brake fluid change etc.) and MOT. I think there may be an addition for spark plugs as the S2k doesn't use the standard ones.
A lot of other main dealers charge a lot more but there are a few who do the same pricing structure at Honda Gatwick.
There are some other jobs that can need doing that will ramp up costs (geo, bush problems etc.) but that's the same with any performance car, they all have something that could cost loads. For performance cars though, the S2000 is one of the cheapest out there to run.

As Drac says, the answer is to shop around the various dealers. Also, joining S2KUK will get you a 10-15% discount at a lot of dealers which will save you a lot of money.
See here for details http://www.s2kuk.com/s2kuk/index.php
PS an S2000 is faster than a Z4 3.0 (of similar vintage).

And then Road Tax.
And parts cost.
And then decide if you love the car enough.

Servicing is the same as any other 4 pot motor really, nothing special or outrageous that needs doing.
Insurance is less than £600 for a 26 year old with a few NCBs, cheaper than any other car I've had
Road tax is cheap enough if you have an earlier one
Parts - not had to replace anything so far, consumables like brakes are pretty averagly priced, clutch is on the higher side but then its a quality item.
All in all I think the S2000 is VERY good value car to run compared to other performance cars I've had its been the easiest to live with! (touch wood!!)

There is a bigger gap than you might think between the cost of servicing the S and a BMW Z4 according to my mate how has a 60 plate 2.5. But insurance is higher on the S than a Z.
