Default Securing front bumper

Hi,

For my SC install i had to remove the front bumper, during putting the bumper back on the RHD screw located to the front of the plastic wheel arch (drivers side screw that attachs bumper to upper wing) is loose.

It doesnt seem to grip and therefore there is a small gap where the bumper meets the bottom of the wing .

Has anyone else this problem - i could just see the screw when screwed in but it looks like it doesnt actually pull the bumper upwards/attachs to anything inside.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I had that problem too, but I just left it as it was, as the gap wasn't really noticeable, and it was held on quite securely by the rest of the screws. Then I crashed again, and my bodyshop bloke repaired and refitted it for me. I don't recommend that option though.

Sorry, that doesn't really help, but at least you're not the only one that has had the problem.

Have you checked to see that the bracket / holder it will be screwing into is in the right place?

Hmm I not aware of a bracket, maybe that's the problem.

What/where's the bracket fester?

Thanks

There must be a tab above where that screw bolt goes in, my money says you've pushed the tab up or knocked out the plastic clip the screw locates in. Is it a screw or a bolt? If it's a bolt it will be a captive nut on a tab, if it's a screw ... it will go into some kind of plastic clip in piece.

It would probably be quicker to pop the arch liner back and take a look with a small shaving mirror / torch?

Theres is a plastic grommet in the lower edge of the wing to receive the screw and it's trashed.

Go buy a new grommet.

IIRC it should be a bolt, M6 x 10. The tab has a captive nut, the wing & headlight catch the same tab, so it's busy.
