Secondary Oxygen Sensor Heater
My CEL lit up the other day, so I checked it using the paperclip method and it told me it was a random misfire, cylinder four. Fair dos, I'll leave it and the light will go out at some point, or I can just do an ECU reset etc.
The light hasn't gone out even after an ECU reset, and now the paperclip is telling me it's the secondary oxygen heater sensor.
I've done a quick search and not found anything conclusive.
Taking a stab in the dark, but would a fault with the oxygen heater sensor have caused the initial misfire?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers.

You didn't search that hardl scott I had the same problem and fixed it so did si2k a bit ago I wrote a thread on it for future reference turns out my thread will be of some use.
I had p0141 iirc or p1141 with my spoon ecu but just the same code, I'm on my g1 phone at the moment and currenly setting off shortly for a car day so do a search for this code above and all will be revealed.
Problem is heating element and sensor fails.
P,s missfire will probably be unrelated due to the time and scenario it looks at that sensor.

I searched using the term secondary oxygen sensor heater, and it came back with a link to the FAQ, and one other link that didn't seem relevant.
The code was 65. Obviously I don't get a P code with a paperclip!
I'll search using your codes and see if I have more success. Cheers.

So it looks like a replacement lambda sensor is what I should be looking for then. Is it the four wire one the S uses? Just going to get an ebay jobbie if that's the case.

Hi Gritty.
The secondary 02 sensor doesn't do anything fuel related so it won't be the cause of your misfire code. It is there to check the cat is performing correctly (or your emissions depending on how you look at it)
So if you reset now, what code do you get back?

Seem to remember Ron posting up about them in the past. Could be wrong though.

Not sure Gritty.
I would personally go with cats direct as i've had success with them before...
Your misfire code is a bit puzzling though. Given you definately have the secondary lambda code, I would be confident it's bust. Just hope there isn't 2 seperate problems!
The sure fire way is to try someone elses lambda, or test it, but both are a pain in the buttocks.
