Default scuffs, scrapes and chips - what have you got?

I'm trying to put together an honest, accurate appraisal of the peril's condition.

I don't want to mislead by describing as 'mint' or 'immaculate' and I am happier with terms like 'above average'. But what is average?

So I'd find it useful if people could give me an idea of what battle scars

a) they are carrying and
b) what they would expect on a seven year old car (priced competitively)

interior/exterior/general

cheers

Ive had people pick holes in cars ive sold before, that were 6 yrs old and had 40-50k miles on them. Its odd because I would be a bit more worried if I couldn't find a stone chip!

People like this piss me off - yes the car is mint but you have to expcet a few minor blemishes!

Outside ive had all my scratches / dents removed but I think to find a car with none would be an exception.

Interior is a different matter, as id expect not much else than a bit of seat bolster creasing if its a good one.

Roof wear seems to be common, with tiny tears starting above where the door panel meets the rear quarter.

On a 7 year car, i'd expect to see

1) Wheel corrosion
2) Bolster wear (if bad), but creasing for sure
3) Worn Honda mats (If not Muz)
4) A few dash scratches
5) Stone chips
6) Maybe some rust bubbling (hey the cars 7 years old)
7) Scratched gear nob
8) Some roof wear
9) Noisy clutch
...There probably are a few more as well

...All this though I would expect to see on a reasonably priced seven year old car, Many of these you would only know if you have owned one or read the forum to some degree I guess.

I'd also add to the above a couple of car park type dings here and there but nothing that couldn't be repaired fairly easily.

one of the reasons this matters is that I can't corroborate the recorded mileage on my car

so condtion is important and anything 'above average' can only help in this regard

by way of example

these areas where I would expect to see much more wear and tear with an average miler (replacement radio door notwithstanding)

Charming. I suggest you work on your manner rather than be needlessly rude Gaddafi.

You can put my post down to a perfectly valid opinion that I'm entitled to rather than ignorance.

It looks tidy in those photos. Better than much newer ones, though
I understand pictures can be inacurate.

I would think from what I have read over the months you dont deal
in inferior metal.

So I would concentrate on its good qualities when describing said
motor, most people I would guess would have an idea of the S's
typical failings.

Russ.
