I had a couple of scores in my cams about the thickness of your thumbnail, nothing like in the pictures, might have the cam cover off again and have another look one day just t make sure all is ok'ish.

Those cams are really shot to f uck.
I'd wonder about oil overheating/starvation.
Mine had a factory shine at 35,000. Except no. 3 exhaust, one was slightly blued, poss. oil starvation when the filter started leaking.
