I had an interesting encounter with a VX220 and a a 350Z over the weekend.

Whilst waiting at the roundabout, a lovely blue VX220 pulls up alongside. Thumbs up and grins were exchanged (a bit gay I know), the lights turned green, and........ I couldn't see the VX220 for dust. Now I know how Wilee Coyote feels when the Roadrunner disappears off into the distance.

Seriously quick off the line and I was absolutely slaughtered. Nothing to choose between the S and the 350Z though, he pulled up alongside eventually (as I was two up and we were, ahem, reaching the legal speed limit I backed off).

Good clean fun, caught up with them a few miles later outside a pub, think the guy in the VX was probably on his second pint by then.....

Sorry but having owned an S2000 & done 80K miles in it including 3 trips to the Nurburgring. There is no way that an S2000 would keep up with an M3 unless it is driven by a vegetable!

Nope.

Spec: (From BMW):

0 - 60mph: 5.5sec
you posted 4.8 earlier

Which would make it the fastest production BMW

Chewed up the new 3.0 litre X-type earlier from a rolling 60. Not massive difference but the gain was easy from 100 upwards (fourth gear attack).
Add to the fact they dont sit well on twisty 'A' roads and it was in the bag...

well i was amused when my clio sport kept up and could have got past some joker in a 630 the other day.. he was less than impressed.

though the twisties he was up the cars ass in front, then got past, as did I.. I assume the fact that kept up with him pissed him off.

So onto a dual carrageway.. he boots it.. but no chance.. i could have got past, but.. speeds very creeping up..

I have been killed by the odd VX220 in the past....they are rapid off the line. But they do weigh about as much as a paper clip!

My mate just sold his 350z and we had some quality races..there was never anything in it.

A couple of weeks ago I was at a red light with a massive stretch on straigh A12 infront of me when this girl who looked about 25 pulled up next to me in an evo VIII......she floored it and was ahead of me up to about 70/80 mph then I started to gain on her but she bottled it and slowed up. shame....

threads like this will just encourage 335i owners

I've only seen two - both very badly driven

the usual characteristic of refusing to move over for a faster car

oh to be a middle manager......
