I've used TomTom on my pda for a good few years now, can't fault it. If you're after an all in one unit, i'd go for the TomTom go, same unit, plus you can add in Gatso's etc :]

I've got a Garmin Quest. Superb, literally pocket sized. Full Euro support. Enough ram to hold the whole of France in there, with UK basemaps concurrently.

I've seen the TomTomGo, nice os but its too toy looking for me. I couldn`t carry that thing about in the field. When hiking and stuff, no way, looks stupid and what if I get it wet?

But - I have to be honest, I`m a Garmin slut. I have a number of Garmin devices and these things fecking work. They are not toys. I`ve taken my other Garmins all over the world and they have navigated me, off road with ease. Top kit.

This stuff is built to last. The Quest is in car and out of car so can be used for orienteering etc, total offroad capability.

Here's a test for other sat nav owners - take your kit, whatever it is and dump it in a lake, I guess a bowl of water will do. Then switch it on, see how you fair.

Garmin gear is submersible. Its satnav for blokes.

It's fecking mens gear.

Pussies need not apply.

That's what I've got and it took 10 minutes to install, no problems

what it doesn't show from that picture is that the face has a motorised
tilt function so it can run at three different angles so even with the installation
quite low down in the S2000 you can still see the screen easily....

Disagree with me at your peril.

Try my test. Get it wet - it'll piss its pants. Like a papier mache erection.

But then you asked me for advice. I don`t need to ask anyone else, I know whats right.

But arguing the qualities of some random company's produce is gay, so I will desist.
