Salvaged S2000
Hi , I've been a member for a month or so, but this is my first post:
Test drove my first S2 nearly 2 years ago, obviously fell in love with it!
However at the time it was a complete dream and not even slightly realistic.
Over the last couple of years though I have got into salvaging lightly damaged vehicles, that have been written off by insurance companies for whatever reason.
Anyway back in late November '01 i found my dream vehicle (as you can imagine, lightly damaged S2's are quite hard to come by!!). The history behind the car is that it was owned by a wealthy young 24 yr old. In the PDI from the dealership the clips on the front suspension were not taken off. (Clipped down when shipped over from Jap) Whilst driving one of these clips came off and resulted in the girl colliding with a wall. (low speed under 20mph accident)
The girl took out Honda insurance which stated 'New for Old' for any accident in the first yr of ownership, which meant the car had to be 'written-off' by the insurance co.
The insurance co. then proceeded to sue the dealership and the car sat in dry storage as evidence of 18mths. The car is a V-Reg with only 1700miles!! The poor girl only had the car for 2 months!!
Anyway the up-shot is that I bought the car from a salvage company and it will be finally back on the road next week
I am only 24 myself and would appreciate any advice you all could give me and any thoughts in general. I am having the car completely checked out by my local dealership next week.
Thanks for reading and i apologise for such a long post.

Welcome aboard Matt.
Gods! Spring spacers claim their first UK victim, no wonder the insurance company are getting letigous with the dealership
When I read the title of your thread I though I might be on a winner for tracking down the used parts I need for my car

Thanks Matt, A1 are just down the road from me but they aren't breaking an S2000 at the minute and are v. short on parts.
I'm after a front alloy and a number of internal trim panels without getting hammered for Honda UK prices...
