Hahaaa, now I know why you PM'd me, you'd have requests for parts coming out your ears. I thought that was what you were alluding to, far from boring in my mind, my apprenticeship was in a similar field and after 2 years I got the choice of which direction to go in, for some reason I didn't go in that one and now I'm stuck in a world of boredom.

Precision Engineer usually means a toolmaker / machinist or mechanical engineer who specialises in precision metal assemblies.

I'm all for this but when you have to factor is reliability, say we've made a part and it fails and takes out x engine that's where it could get messy.

Sometimes I'd rather trust a heavily designed part etc with masses of r and d than save a few quid with a part made in Russ the snails garage, I'm not knocking anyone nor the idea or people's capabilities...
