You would also need a set of snow chains (by law) during that time in the Alps, no idea how much they are, but the hassle in fitting them would probably put you off the idea anyway
I have a set that have never been used.

If they fit the S you would be welcome to borrow them.

Lol,

Its a pretty big event in the skating world - this year there were over 550 teams present, there are 10 people in a team plus 3 pitcrew. Yep, we skate around the circuit and take over the entire place, about 4 teams per pit area.

How long is the whole circuit? I'm pretty sure that we don't do the whole circuit as I was doing it in about 13 minutes and the serious speed skaters can do 40 mph. Nice tarmac
so how many laps of the Bugatti circuit do you each do?

As many as possible in 24 hours. We split our team into 3 and did 2 or 3 hour shifts. I was pitcrew and did laps when a one of the team was knackered. We weren't a serious serious team, we were more interested in having fun than competing seriously, hence our team name - Les Slackers We still did ok which is good.

We drive to the Alps to go skiing every year. I wouldn't take the S if I were you!! We stick to a trust Zafira with 4 up and ski kit!!

The first problem would be around Lyon and a bit further down as you approach the mountains expect rain!!!..............and lots of it!! This is a good thing though cause it means its snowing at altitude!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmm skiing! fresh snow!

French motorways are not know for their superb tarmac so expect all the standing water issues............after 8 hours driving this isn't going to be fun staying alert and anticipating all the puddles!!

Then the drive up the mountain...............near the top you may encounter fresh or hard packed snow............again difficult getting over 17mph in the S on this and all accompanied by nice 1000ft drops on one side!!

Where the snow melts in resort you get water which quickly turns to ice and stays that way............I sprained my wrist walking back from the pub last year!!!...........we all know the S goes nowhere on ice!!.

Trust me take something diesel for fuel economy and FWD for the snow or if poss 4WD although the Zafira does fine but we ALWAYS take snow chains (and 99% of the time return them to Halfords still boxed 2 weeks later!!)

Just my thoughts..................where ya going BTW?? ;-)

Valmeinier - Valloire? I've never been skiing before so it should be interesting. Can't be that difficult!

I was going to have a go at boarding and go to a dry slope first, seems sensible I hope I don't get too addicted, I've got enough addictions already!
