Actually, I was chatting to a mate whose friend rated his VR6 way better that the TT225 that replaced it, so you're not wrong, Rahul.

And the later models were reliable.

The S IS everyday and practical

having owned mine since October 02 and just coming up to my 72k service, I am in a position to vouch for it's everydayness and prcticality

....147GTa.....

But a bad coke habit is financially more sensible, and you might as well entrust the servicing to your local vehicle dismantlers.

Yeah Aquila I know loads of people use the S as an everyday car.
I actually dont mind using the beater for driving to work, and it is incredibly handy to have a motor which you really dont give a s**t about!!
8k on the beater a year is 8k OFF the S mileage.
(and the beater barely depreciates)
The 8k equates to (at least!!!) half a set of tyres, and also one whole service worth of mileage...

Another thing with a beater -parking isnt a considered choice, looking for wide parking spaces - its an absolute doddle.!

However, my reason for contemplating the idea of changing motors is really financial !!

After all is said and done, I may well keep it...... Will have to ponder this one very carefully.!

so how high are you going to let the mileage go before you swap it for another AE?
