Talking S2K has landed! Techy questions

I now have my MY01 S2k Silver with red leather

Having gone from EP3 R to DC2 R and now I have an S2K.

So far so good, its my first RWD car so im still getting used to the characteristics of its handling so im being VERY careful! But ive streached its legs in 2nd-3rd-4th and its got some poke lol.

My only worries are..... The clutch seems quite noisey and 2nd & 3rd gear are very notchy till fully warmed up. Is this common? Are the synchros weak on these boxes? The front left tyre has worn unevenly and the hood rattles a little from the left hand side of the cabin.

Ive read there have been a few recalls on the S2k will a MY01 car need any? How can I find out if its had them done and if they havent then can you get recall done outside of warrenty?

Other than that its a very clean car.

thanks for all your help guys!

Welcome to the ownership of a great car, even if it is a slow colour. My clutch doesn't make a noise and I know of a few clutch issues so probably worth doing a search. The gearbox can be a bit notchy until warm. Hood rattles can be adjusted or padded and if you go to Honda's site you can input your chassis no's to see if recalls have been done. Not sure how you stand out of warranty. Sorry I can't help on all your questions. Enjoy the car

My clutch is noisy too but I like it! Adds to the character for me.

My gears are also stiff when cold but I like that too, helps me to gauge when fluids are all up to temp when they loosen off.

Go to the Honda website and click on owner and type the cars reg etc in - should give you all the recall details. As far as I'm aware a recall is a recall and has nothing to do with warranty - your local friendly dealer will advise!!

Is the clutch noisey on over run when you slow down?

if so its a comon thing, nothing serious just noise.

Yeah the box is notchy

Its a honda so the synchros should be strong enough.

As for the roof strickers...

Order two JDM GT striker plates (part no H86270S2A902) at a cost of

Matt, check the tech faq.

The major recall is the oil bolt recall. If this has been done you'll get an extra years engine warranty from Honda UK

Welcome!

The best colour choice as well

Find a reliable stealer and get them to run your VIN through their recalls PC. It is better than the HUK web site plus it is worth getting to know your friendly stealer!

Does the hood rattle with it up? If so does it go away when you pull the front edge down? If so check the strikers and the catches as per the above afore mentioned thread.

If one tyre is wearing unevenly get the geo checked, whilst your at it consider getting it reset to the optimum geo as per the FAQ!

Clutches noise is the difference between 54 and 55 type. IIRC no reliablity issue just noisey!
