I think there's a lot of people very disappointed that their S2000 got burned up by a TeDIous Golf off a wet roundabout or something, and grimble about it.
Interesting point - I'm sure you're right. Long before getting mine I was aware that was pretty likely though. I mean, it's not exactly a state secret that it struggles a little in the wet, is it?

If Honda wanted to make the S2000 a rocket ship they'd have put a massive turbo lump init, they didn't.

It ####s me off how people only care how much power a car has got and how fast it is in a straightline.

Give my granny a tuned supra and she can go fast in a straightline all day long.

You either get the S2000 or you don't.

imho
RedUn,

Is that the Racing Line in your avatar?

I think that depends.

I prefer driving it in the wet for some odd reason.

Mine shocks me sometimes on wet roads, mainly fast roundabouts.

It may be my trusty Toyo's but it just sticks like glue as long as you aren't too hard on the throttle.

I also once had some loon in an S chasing me in an STi which i'd just had mapped. It was pissing down, country roads, and he had his wife in the car. While I was getting away, the car's preformance in the wet really baffled me!

Well it's a handling rather than a grip thing, isn't it? You say it yourself, "as long as you aren't too hard on the throttle".

Seems fair enough to me!

It is indeed grip.

I'd agree; by the end of a long wet drive, one can be going seriously fast.

It's all about heat in the tyres. The 'Lude's T-1Rs improve with heat, too.

Newer hot-hatches are certainly not far behind the S
..as are many single/twin turbo diesels, especially with 6/7 speed slushboxes, but then that's not really the point is it?
