S2000's have the softest paint
I spend 6 hours detailing my black S 3 weeks ago prior to winter weather
1- Fairy liquid wash to remove all the wax/road grime
2- Megs claybar
3- Machine polished the whole car using menzerna final finish
4- Applied 2 coats of Natty blue wax--Loving that bubblegum smell!
5- Megs Ultimate detailer for a final wipe down
Car looked stunning!
Ive washed the car twice since, always 2 bucket method, dried using microfibres and then megs ultimate detailer again as final stage.
Just washed the car again today and when the sun came out noticed the car was covered in swirls again. I am always very careful when washing the car using lambswool mitts etc and drying it with clean microfibres etc so how on earth has it got so swirly in just 3 weeks?
I think i'm chasing my ass with a black car trying to eliminate swirls. Is the paint really this soft or are the swirls in the wax coating?

I admit im no professional detailer but i'm not bad at it now. I got a lot of the swirls out using the dual action megs polisher. I just find the S paint so soft.
Im going to re-spray it with VAG paint that stuff is as hard as nails!

If you managed to remove all the swirls the first time round, it will take around 10 washe before slight swirls start appearing again.
Did you wax the car after detailing? I always use a sealant and glaze before a wax my favourite is Carlack - the duo.
Mine was berlina black as well and usually washed at least once a week.
Swirls are more obvious on a BB and that they appear after a bit is normal too given Hondas butter paint.

Im sure i didnt get them all out,as i said i'm no expert but i did a pretty good job. Yes waxed with Poorboys Nattys paste wax, maybe i will try a sealant. Carlack? I'll take a look into that stuff.

I was intrigued by your thread title, 'softest pain', that oxymoron sounds like something out of the Erotic Review!
I do agree that the S has the softest paint, especially when compared with Mr Q's Volvo. My S is a lost cause. I am more into driving than detailing but I do appreciate the efforts of those who strive to keep the paintwork of their cars pristine.

I've promptly edited the title,it did sound a bit profound...
I enjoy cleaning the car i find it theraputic. A car as pretty as the S desrves to have shiney paint all year round.
The paint is so soft i wiped some horse cr@p off earlier and marked the bumper! I don't know what the damn horse had been eating, maybe it had a taste for grit...

The non-clear coat red paint on my JDM Civic is much much softer than the paint on the S. You only need to breath on the paint and there are swirls
