in the dry? you must have been trying
i've spun mine in the dry, imho it's easier to catch in the wet because it happens at lower speeds
try a drag race with him from a standing start in the wet

You could call it trying!! I remember it all happened in slow motion. I was more worried about if we/well Kelly would be ok as she called me an idiot with a very worried look on her face and gripped my hand. After that i realised how much of an idiot i was and how i would never forgive myself if i hurt her....

Not sure a bout the VXR but I beat a Megane turbo 225 sport fairly easily, I think these have a bit less power than the VXR though, but probably a reasonable comparison.
And I had the roof down.

Haven't we had this debate before??
The VXR is a very fast car, and IMO there is no real world straight line difference.... likley to be tenths of difference to 100mph.
The VXR is fairly light and has 240bhp... getting that power down and controlling the torque steer is a different matter though.
Quite like the look of them for a hot hatch, but would take a Golf GTI 230 Anniversary over one every time.

Any old chav can floor a VXR, they are easy to drive on bends etc, the S2K however, we all know it has its limits, break them and she bites back with a vengence usually by spinning out and finding the nearest tree or post!

Well I have a VXR and an S2000 and the VXR is VERY quick, I tend not to rag the S too much (as it's the wifes) but the VXR is a company car so gets more abuse. The VXR is about 10 months old with 20K and every day it surprises me, is it quicker round bends? I don't know, because I bottle out before either car does.
Torque steer is a problem, but the power band in 3rd is surprising.
I did a driving day a couple of weeks back driving a Subaru, 2 Porkers, a Ferrari and a Lotus, while of course they were quicker but the VXR 'feels' not that far behind (yea I know that sounds silly).
