S2000 Stolen anybody on here?

Not happened to me, but a couple of friends have suffered where car keys were the thieves' target and houses were broken into and nothing else taken. Keep your keys out of sight and away from entrance doors, especially if you are out.

This is why I'm sticking the best possible Clifford alarm, remote on/off and remote immobilizer to my car and a tracker.
I think a lot of car theft nowadays involves the thief breaking into your house in order to get your keys.

Tracker may help locate the stolen vehicle, but would an alarm/immobiliser stop a thief taking your car if they had the keys ? I'm not up to speed on aftermarket immobilisers so am genuinely interested.

but I suspect in most cases, if they have the keys, they effectively have the car
you need to look into devices with an additional level of security, best not discussed here
you are right that increased levels of vehicle security have resulted in more break ins
and car jacking

Unfortunately it's true. There have been a load of instances in and around Reading where houses have been broken in to and the keys stolen, quite often to cars more expensive than S2000's
I think Trevi's advice is sound, also bear in mind you can get a good safe from a DIY store for about 30-50 quid. Keep your spare keys in it (also your passport, driving license, chequebook if you have one).
When you go to bed at night, take your keys with you. Don't leave them in the kitchen or front room.
