I have a bad back today, not because of the S but DIY
Got some "S time" booked in the week so I hope it clears up.

A pain down the leg from the lower back is usualy sciatica, a common
pain caused by nerves being trapped and squeezed in your spine.
Happens to many of all ages.

Funny enough mine has subsided tonight, had a bottle of merlot though

yep am only 23, did tear a disc though to trigger it a few years back. Alcohol normally makes mine worse, especially the next day.

Best thing I did was invest in a King-size 1500 pocket sprung bed (more and they put springs on top of one another with filling in the middle - its crap) it encourages your spine to go to its natural shape when you sleep

Orthopaedic Mattresses tend to be hard and force your back strait and make the problem worse

I slated the TT earlier but the heated seats were great for the back
even in summer!

Memory foam mattress is brilliant for mine, an also try sleeping with a cushion between your knees if you sleep on your side (similar theory to the folded towel at your waist I think)

Although I'm nobody to comment - after 2 years of osteo the pain is getting worse not better and I'm almost crippled this morning

The S seats were particularly bad though, and part the reason I sold up in the end - the pain down my leg was just too bad

At the risk of stating the obvious we all have different bodies.
The S2000 has given me less sciatica pain that the MX-5 I had previously, despite the harder ride of the former.
4 factors have helped me alleviate the pain.

1. A good chiropractor. A 6 month check up and bit of manipulating does wonders.
2. Carying a piece of special progressive foam density foam ( from specialists upholsterers). Used when all else fails.
3. My daily driver has an 8 way seat and cruise.
4. Driving without shoe on right foot. This allows the ankle to flex and on the S & when just pottering gently I can actually operate the throttle using my toes - very relaxing indeed. In fact driving with both feet shoeless is quite liberating, and the thick pile Honda floor well rug/mat is very cosy.
Plod and general do-gooders claim that driving thus is illegal. I have been driving thus for 50 years so too bad - my comfort comes first.

Wish that the S2000 had cruise though. Reluctant to mess about with after-market add-ons.

yup i agree with the cruise... i retro fitted it into my 50k/year runaround nova and i felt 100 times better after a 5.5hr run to london, i also did a aberdeen and back non stop 7hrs each way with no issues

i've fitted it in my passat too and it has made a big difference

the civic was speced with it

was it even an option on the s2000?

Dreamer, I do end up on my side so il try a towel.

BB, is it really illegal? I often drive barefoot, if so what a load
of bollocks!

I think the S seats are okay but they need more lumbar support
bad back or not.

Russ.
