Well done to the Feathered One - the owners club discounts are largely down to him.
My insurance is up in a week - must give Adrian Flux a call to see what they can do for me.

Mine's due for renewal in a couple of weeks. Spoke to Flux yesterday and they couldn't find me anything less than two grand. Bloke on the phone was moderately rude; insisted on calling me by my first name and suggested that I call back in a year when I had "more experience of a powerful car". (He reckons that next year they'll be able to offer me a quote of "around 1000".)
Admiral and Sainsbury's came in at under 900 quid.

bob - what number did you call on? if it is the dedicated club line, I'd be very interested
Will give them a try this morning and see if they can come up with a better quote.

Adrian Flux were pretty rude when I phoned for quotes too. That was before the members number etc., but put me off ever doing business with them (oh yeah the massively inflated quote also did that !)

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Flux, but the owner's club deal worked for me.
Their telephone manner has never been that good TBH (I've been insured with them for four years now) and I will admit to having to insist on speaking to or writing to their customer care department on occasion to get the right deal but its never been this easy. They do have the best price for me (including cover for my dealer fitted hard top - other insurers have refused to offer cover for this - not that I use it much but it I feel it would add value to the car in the event of a claim).
Anyway, they weren't offering any discounted renewal premium until I mentioned the owner's club. Maybe Flux are only good if you fit their "risk profile" or something (I'm a "veteran owner" - it could be that maybe?).
Whatever, a big thank you to the owner's club
