Why is this?!
Honda on the other hand have pulled from F1 (Unlike Toyota) and are axing/shelving all of thier RWD sports cars.
Perhaps Toyota and Nissan will come to this point but atm Honda seem to be being affected moreso; unless I'm missing something?

Honda did a similar thing during the last downturn, including withdrawing from F1, albeit as an engine supplier.
From what I read (willing to be corrected if someone has more info) Honda aren't remotely in trouble, and have always been exceptionally profitable, but they react very, very to downturns which might well be exactly why they are profitable.

No, the last thing the car needed was LED radiator vents.
TBH, the whole thing smacks of MG ZR-ness
Take a Rover 25, stick on some fandangled bits and sell.
The S is too good of a car to have this done to it.
Oh well....

I'm sure the nose was for Acura GT5000 wannabes. Or Watanabes.
Probably just as well that got the chop.
BTW, Honda still made an excellent profit in 2008, unlike Toyota. But being small fry, they cannot haemorrhage money like that. All they've probably done is cancel all the costly and unprofitable shit now the profits won't be there to pay for it.
Furthermore, BMW (about Honda-sized) stated that if they carried on haemorrhaging cash at current rates, they've got two years to live...
I don't think many people still appreciate how serious this one is; they come every 54-70 years and knock all the bullshit out of the system. Honda understands this and although it's (probably) sad there won't be an S3000 or GT5000 for a long time, I admire their decision...

They are playing for real, big readjustments, and Takeo Fukui has made a bet the firm on Hybrids gamble. Let's hope it works, would be difficult to recover from a mis-step on that one. And there is a (short term?) cloud on the horizon with the decline in fuel prices, reducing the attractiveness of that solution. Ah well they still have the Honda Jet project, or was that canned in the mix?
