£343 sounds very expensive for the fluid change, there may be someone on here who would give a hand for beer and crisps or at least recommend a decent place to get it done, I get them done and run it bit to see if anything else needs attention. The car looks pretty tidy so a good valet would make the world of difference, let us all know how you get on, and welcome.

Where abouts in Surrey are you, I live in Reading and could give you a hand? I am free most weekends, just not this one as going to a meet. Definitely free next weekend and I have next friday off.

You can drive the car to an MOT station as long as the car is insured and you have a booked appointment. You should take the most direct route. You can then get tax once you have the MOT. You don't need to get the car picked up for that!

I appreciate you might not be qualified or have the confidence to do the work yourself but for a main dealer you're a dream customer, somebody who says 'collect my car and get it going'. Why not include a signed blank cheque as well.

The car is not so specialised that a good mechanic could not do all the work and probably take an interest in doing things properly. At a dealer it will just be another set of wheels to process and raise an invoice for.

BTW some funky aunt eh, with her sports carS?

Let us know and see the results.

Good luck

I bet you've got that dirt cheap as well eh? Its a shame its been left to rot but on the plus side you have a low mile car thats probably going to cost very little to sort out. Win for you!

waaahhhooooo, i officially bought the honda today so iv just gotta sought out insurance and taking my other car off the road for a while.
so do you lot reckon it will be ok to drive straight to a mot station without having the brakes cleaned because it looks like quite a bit of rust? and do you reckon the oil change should be done first thing before mot or does it not realy matter?

If the car moves then I would see if you could clean the brakes just by using them, go easy on them, but it should be fine.

Make sure the car stops before you go to the MOT station!

You could do the oil change before or after the MOT, just make sure there is some oil in the engine before starting/taking it to the MOT. It will need one though!

Also, fill the tank up with fresh fuel!

assuming your autny doesn't live on a duel carriageway then just go slowly round the block a few times, applying the brakes gently, building back up to normal breaking. Take the journey nice and easy to the garage and follow all the previous advice.
