I've had mine for just over a year, its got 33500 on the clock, and I drive it in any conditions as it's my daily drive.

Contrary to a lot of rumours, hearsay, and boxster owners, the S2000 handles very well in the wet. As long as you keep it very smooth, balenced, and 'lean' on the tyres though corners, it is very forgiving.

This is relatively easy to learn on a couple of airfield days in the wet/damp conditions

Alternatively you can boot the throttle and power slide it though corners, but that is not big, or clever

................... loads of grip.......

I've used mine as a daily driver.......buts it's now in the garage and I commute in a Corrolla simply to reduce running costs and keep the mileage down

With 2 children my head says sell but my heart says keep it....heart wins

This is the one car that I have fallen for hook line and sinker...I can't see myself ever getting rid of it. Will be used for trackdays and going to meets

Daily driver in and around London, up and down the country in dry and wet. Any chance I get to drive the S is taken. It's a car not a trophy for the garage. Had the S nearly a year now, love the back end out when situation allows, love VTEC through all the gears when nobody's looking and wish we had an S2000 race track for all of us to push the limit on this lovely little beast.

I've done just over 5K miles from new. I do use a second car, partly to protect the S but mostly because I value the practicality of an estate.

I have driven the S in all conditions bar snow - we don't get that down here.

I'm not of the opinion that driving in the wet is fun; I think it's plain unpleasant, and defeats the point of having a high performance soft top. Having said that, I have not had more than a twitch (which happened in the dry) and find the handling and roadholding excellent in all conditions. I reduce my wet weather speed considerably and only wish more drivers did.

If it snowed, I wouldn't drive unless I had no alternative. Hood up, shite conditions, cold, 4X4's showering crap everywhere. What would be the point?

I'm sure the S can be used as a daily driver, but since it is such a focused car, there will have to be compromises.

I'd say if you can afford it, buy a practical second car, and enjoy the S in its element.

I luckily can use public transport most of the time for a relatively short commute (30 mins).

The S is mainly for being a hooligan in at the weekends, and making long road trips enjoyable for the first time in my life.

My 02 seems fine in wet weather provided I just use higher gears and keep the revs down - fortunately I managed to avoid all the snow last winter.

I can't justify running a second car, esp as the S is fine to punt through city centre traffic and visiting Safeways when required. Only the crashing over potholes / cobbles causes problems for town driving. Definitely an all year round car (if you can avoid the snow ).

BTW Graham, how did you manage to do 18k miles on an island I've only done 9k since last September.

Why is there not an option of "drive every day and not carefull in the wet"?

Am i the only one to VTEC in the wet? just get ready to catch the rear when it hits 6.5K.

Most fun I've had in years.

Ho yes, 13K since Dec last year.

Cheers
