Since I have only had my S2K for 7 weeks, I can see where EVO are coming from.
I used to have a Civic VTI (3 door) a few years ago, so I know all about VTEC power delivery, however there is a world of difference between 158 bhp FWD and 237 bhp RWD. My last car was a 318is BMW, so I thought with prior knowledge of VTEC and RWD I would be fairly comfortable in the S2k in the wet - How wrong I was. I have driven the car on wet B roads just like EVO and I have had a similar experience to them. The tendency is to use 3rd gear, mainly because using 2nd on wet corners requires considerably more commitment. The softer power delivery at say 40 - 60 mph in 3rd makes the cars attitude more benign, however this can be frustrating as it seems to take an age to get in the VTEC zone. In the dry, the experience is completely different - I have the confidence to hit the VTEC zone through any kind of corner in any gear.
I have no doubt, that as my confidence grows that my wet weather speed will increase - but this will take weeks, not a couple of days like an EVO test.
