Sounds like you were just very unlucky, being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sorry to hear of the outcome though. Scum.......
Hope you can sort things out swiftly.

Sh*t luck mate. I'd write a formal letter of complaint to the company you were visiting, criticising the fact they choose to locate in a complete sh*t hole, so might as well have cameras around, and thing about cutting down the trees to give better visibility.
Feel for you mate.

Thanks for your support everyone! This was a good way of getting it off my chest! I think I've taken it quite well because I use my car for travelling with work (I don't do enough private miles to warrant the S if I had a beater) and most of the time I don't expect it to even be there when I head back to the car park, so this is relatively minor! Yes, it is annoying to see the mess they've made of my car when I've looked after it so well for four years and all so they can make

I think that pager 'type' alarms (but please!! correct me if I'm wrong) work on an RF signal transmitted from the cars alarm unit? as such have a range for maybe 250m - 500m and therefore mobile phone signal would be no comparable measure.
That aside I think its fair to say that we're all completely gutted on your behalf and would stand shoulder to shoulder against the person/people/fu*kwits that do these things to our cars.
