Car flips in motorway accident
A sports car flipped onto its roof on the motorway at the end of rush hour.
Police were called to the scene near junction nine at Segensworth, westbound on the M27 at just after 9am.
It caused tailbacks back towards Fareham as the slow lane had to be closed for about two hours after the Honda S2000 came to a halt upside on the hard shoulder.
Firefighters from Fareham, High Town and Cosham's special equipment unit were also called to the scene.
Fareham watch manager Simon Whelan said: 'I understand it had done a pirouette and flipped over a couple of times. The guy had already got out of the car when we arrived, so there wasn't much for us to do apart from make it safe.'
The driver, the vehicle's sole occupant, was not thought to be seriously hurt but was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital by ambulance to be checked over.
Officers from the roads policing unit are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Always good to hear.
Although teh hacks tend to leave it to the last sentence, to get the full pathos out of the incident

I'm surprised they didnt say "High powered sports car", and "lucky escape", or "A 150mph Honda Sports car", as they do when a bike is involved.
