Slightly clearer version here, taken from the sticky in the suspension forum: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/818...nsion-springs/
Code:
              | Front Rear | Front Rear
Model Year | Spring Spring | Sway Bar Sway Bar
--------------+------------------+--------------------
2000-2001 | 219 291 | 393 427
2002-2003 | 246 309 | 300 396
2004-2005 | 262 278 | 300 311
2006-2007 | 262 269 | 300 311
2008-2009 | 280 294 | 354 311
2008-2009 CR | 384 343 | 392 362

Note 1: All figures are in lb/in. Divide by 56 to get kg/mm.
Note 2: Edited 17Nov2010 with slight updates to spring rates per rev1 of paper.

the reason I ask is I feel the pre 03 s2000 has a better feel to it than the "dum downed" suspension set up of the 03 onward but this is my personal preference and in no way in my opinion better its just I like the feel of older s2000 but find most of them are starting to show sign of fatigue on the body work if yo know what I mean. thats why I was wondering if the old suspension setup would fit on the new style shell.

again this is only my preference

softest springs possible and largest roll bars is the better for handling.
but see your point with the dramatics of stiffness and go cart feel

Have you tried all the variations of the 03 onward?

Aah man, doing it the wrong way round big time.

- You like the way a 2003 car drives
- You like the way a 2004+ car looks

Making the 2003 car look like a 2004+ will be FAR cheaper and easier than making the 2004+ car drive like a 2003 car.

If you were to buy a GOOD 2002 / 2003 car and then pay for new bumpers, lights, and wheels (all second hand of course) + paint, that would be the way to do it. If you find a low mileage garage queen, there shouldn't be any rust issues if that is your only concern of a prefacelift. That said, I not long ago sold my 2002 Berlina at 125,000 miles and it has slight bubbling on the arches, and that was it - easily remedied by a competant paintshop.

That would be a damn sight cheaper than finding a 2009 shell, and then finding a 2003 car, stripping most of it and binning the shell - not to mention the work involved in that!!

The slower steering rack on the facelifts I had used to really annoy me, I always wanted it a bit quicker.

No reason you cant swap it for an early one IF you don't buy one with VSA, as the VSA has a steering angle sensor in the steering rack. You can see it in parts diagrams if you want to look further... Or fit a smaller steering wheel

I drove a 2009 a 2005 and 2011 and ive had a 2000 and now got 2003 but the shell on mine need alot of attention. I may be able to get a 2009 shel with no rot but has no running gear. im hoping he will drop his price to 2500 but until then all I wanted to know is was it possible?

did honda make subframe changes from 2004 onwards?

If you look on Lings Honda site, you can check all the various model year part numbers for any changes http://www.lingshondaparts.com/
