I had the standard SLK55AMG for a while a couple of years ago, and the standard engine was a bit of a beast. The Kleeman version must pull like a BAST

(SLK55AMG had an absolutely PANTS auto box : that and the overt bling factor were enogh to put me off despite the thumping V8.)

I thought the SLKAMG BLACK SERIES had the horrid box, and that the normal AMG was fine???

You've also put SLK55, are you sure your not confused with the SL55???

Can't say I've had any first hand experience with the 'Black', but the normal AMG in the SLK55AMG that I had was, I can assure you, a fairly poor go - very slooooooooooooow to respond to paddles (like a second-PLUS between pressing paddle and box changing), a nasty habit of changing up even at 2-3000 revs (in auto) as soon as you put your foot down significantly when, for example, when wanting to gun it coming off a roundabout & too much jolting when changing down in auto when coming up to junctions.

(And no; I have NEVER been confused as to what model of car I own/have owned!!)

I have kept up with a 350 slk too, in the S.

But have been absolutely punished by an AMG
