The S as the only car for a single person

Apart that for one tyre of the S I can buy two on the Fiesta. The service cost on the S is double that of the Fiesta and it is every 9000 miles for every 12500 miles for the Fiesta. Apart from that you are correct.
The numbers are crucial and I will put them down on paper (well spreasheet probably ). I will have to work out how much of a mortgage I will need too.
Some hard sums to be done.

Sylvie - when you do your spreadsheet you will find that the biggest single cost is the gas. Now if you are careful most of the time you can get 30 mpg from the S2000. How much does the Fiesta do? That's where the biggest cost will come in.
Last tax year 6652 miles

Silvie, you can do all the sums you like, but life is short and I think you would regret it in the end if you love it so much.
My dad spent his last 3 years after her retired lusting after a new Renault. Not much to ask, and he and my mum had more than enough money in the bank, but they wouldn't spend it 'just in case'. He died three years after retirement and then my mum a couple of years later.
They never got what they really wanted and what they worked for, so just do it. Try it and see if you can make it work out. If, after a time you can't, as has previously been said, you can sell the S and get something practical, but at least you can say you tried.

Just go with the S.
When you have the car you find ways to run it. If you do the calculations you find reason not to. (Ask any smoker, they always find the cash for a smoke, ask any none smoker and they never now how smokers can afford it!!).
I did the calculation last year, then thought what the hell and went a head anyway. The one factor you can't cost is the fun factor the S brings . It

Personnally I don't have any problems with running one every day. My 2.7 mile commute (each way) doesn't give me any problems
You lazy fecker!
Sylvie, as everyone else has said no harm in trying. If it becomes too expensive sell it. Depending on when things sort themselves out, you can always sell it over the summer and should get a decent price.

If you have to look back at the past, make sure its with a
I have never enjoyed getting into a car as much as the S; even after a bad day, it just brings a smile to your face & all the extra insurance costs etc vs a normal car just seem so worth it.
