Default S*at in my pants!!!

Was driving down the A40 into London yesterday night, was reaching speeds of up to abt 90 in between the cameras on a 50 road......... was concentrating on the road ahead at that speed......when I took a glance at the rear view mirror into an unmarked Mondeo with its blue lights in the front grill flashing!!!

I was thinking......curtains..... was thinking of the loss of $$$ with the fine and insurance premium increase... then he let rip with a siren. I immediately pulled over expecting him to pull over too but he continued on his journey with his flashing lights still on, speeding off into the distance!!! Then i realised I was in the right most lane...... and he wanted to get through....

About 5 cars later, another unmarked Focus with the same type of blue flashing lights blew past me again......

I'm thinking ...did he or didn't he?

Anybody out there have an idea whether I'll be expecting a ticket in the post soon?

I doubt that they would have missed the chance to give you a patronising lecture about speed kills if it had suited them

If you ever find yourself in this situation be sure to correct the officer in that it isn't speed that kills but the sudden deceleration. I find that pedantry is always appreciated by officials

Seriously though, I understand that if you're not informed within 14 days then thats it. (excluding you moving house to avoid a letter )

Don't know if its true or not but I was told that a road traffic car has to stop you to issue a ticket........ they need to explain what you were doing wrong.

Anyone know if this is true or not?

You should be OK, this sounds traffic police training cars. I know that they do a lot of their runs around the A40, so I wouldn't be too worried.

Not sure but got a know at the door 13 days after the supposed crime and was told verbally that the copper couldn't stop me because of the immensely heavy traffic. Yeah right.

This was at 11pm at night in a deserted area of town plus he had written "v. light" under the "traffic" section of the HORT.
One of serveral very suspicious facts about the whole thing.
