Default rusty brake calipers

My brake calipers and the base of the discs are rusty,on my 03, do they do a cover for the calipers or is it just the case to paint them ? as i think it spoils the car , any info will be greatly received . Cheers Mick.

As said there are may post's on this

Do you want to go down the route of removal , splitting and re-installing ? Perhap's powder coating ?

Or do you want a quick , easy and effective way ?

I did my caliper's and the rust on the disc's / hub's soon after purchase ( more than 3 yr's ago ) and they are still good today using just Ku-rust and a tin of silver cellulose brushed on .

Brush on Ku-rust to the rusty area's (including the edge of the disc's) and onto the caliper .

Leave to cure .

The rusty hub's and disc edge's will turn a satin black .

The caliper's will go a bit blotchy but this is a good base for the paint that you just brush on with a small paint brush .

If you leave the hub's/ disc's with just the Ku-rust finish it look's " as new " where-as if you paint them as well it look's as if you painted them IMHO .

This is a simple and effective cure for rusty disc's and hub's and easily last's between my annual wheel removal and
clean reseal .

Regard's John.
