Rusty Brake Calipers
#12
Hi,
Please could you give me some advice on painting brake calipers.
Is it easy to do? a tutorial somewhere perhaps?.
I really wouldn't have an idea where to start lol but if its straight forward ill give it ago as all mine are looking very rusty.
Whats the best paint to use and where to buy it from?
I have a silverstone car and also need the alloys refurbed due to the surface flaking away so was thinking of black chrome and then maybe black calipers or red....
Any info guide or advice would be much appeciated

I took my wheels off, and then took to the caliper with a stiff wire brush.
After the majority of surface was clean, I got out a dremmel and wire attachment to do all the seams.
Then I cleaned it off, and painted with black heat resistant paint (few coats), and put them back on when dry.

So any luck with the warranty claim ??
I bet they were
They are bare metal brake calipers, they will rust.
Change them to proper Aluminium calipers if you don't want them to rust.
