Honda are not the only ones. My MR2 Mk3 was on its third complete set of alloys at the start of its 2nd year from new. Also affected Lexus. It got so bad Toyota/Lexus was refurbishing them presumably as this was cheaper than supplying new ones.

Mine are looking pretty poor now too - yet they were pretty good when I bought the car 10 months ago!!

Does anybody know at what age of car Honda will stop replacing them? I presume they are covered by the anti-corrosion part of the warranty, which is what - 6 years??

Has anybody had their wheels replaced on a car which is >3 yrs old?

On a car that is only covered by the Honda used car warranty??

Just trying to decide how bullish to be when I discuss this with my local dealer......

Cheers

Jerry

Jerry - I think a few have had them replaced under the HUK extended warranty. I am thinking about trying it with mine so I have a nice shiny new set if I every sell the car! (I run 18" normally!)

I've had one replaced at 4 years. They're not covered by the corrosion warranty so it's at Honda's discretion.

Nearly all Japanese performance cars suffer from this. I know Toyota and Subaru have similar problems. I believe that Enkei wheels (as fitted to the S2k, MY00 Impreza, Celica etc etc) are particularly bad.

I wouldn't bother going aftermarket, you'll be able to get the full set refurbished so they don't corrode for around

My replacement set are corroding faster than the original set!

It's worth an ask.

BTW, aren't the JDM six-spokes made by BBS?

Just a thought, but for those who wish to have the handling purity of the original set up without the bubbles (and avoid looking like a white wannabe gangsta!) , that might be another option.
