I have no issues reading the level, it simply requires good light.
If the dipstick was sand blasted or rubbed down with wet & dry, that would make it matt so easier to tell the wet bit from the dry.

I guess I misunderstood your original post, as I assumed you meant I must be the dipstick just because I couldn't read it!
Now I realise you meant the washer bottle, so I can sleep soundly at night without a chip on my shoulder
Seriously, thanks to everyone for their input....think we're pretty divided on how useful the dipstick (the one in the engine!) is.
Maybe I do just need to revisit Specsavers, as I must admit to not having this issue when I first bought the car 10 years ago.
P.S. Anyone remember Megameet 1, as it's almost the 10th anniversary?
I watched the DVD the other night for the first time in years, and it brought back some really good memories.
