Default RPF1s from the states?

Hi guys.

I'm thinking of being totally unique and getting myself a set of RPF1s. I looked at some UK sellers who want ~£1200 a set.

The US are selling them closer to £750 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ENKEI-RPF1...item43caeae86c

Am I missing anything here? (Apart from import tax - whatever that is) Has anyone ordered wheels from the states before? Just wondering if theres anyone in particular worth buying from as the savings over UK suppliers looks pretty tempting!

Cheers
Rich

You're not missing anything. Prices in the UK are higher. One thing to be wary of - customs duties on import that you may get stung with...

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the shipping came out at more than $220 but even with shipping, VAT and duty you might save a few hundred. They better not get damaged in transit though as it'll be a PITA to send them back !

Not sure it would work like that, business would still pay VAT, then if they weren't "consumed" in the UK and shipped on, the business could claim the VAT back. They are pretty hot on that because of Carousel fraud so not worth trying to avoid I think !

Rich, I've been in the market for new wheels recently as you may know and two sets came up at the same time and have gone for the Work ones.

While searching, these were one of the wheels I considered but wasn't a big fan as the rim looks quite wide (short spokes, if you know what I mean) which to my eye makes them look smaller than they are (only my opinion) Anyway, the second set of wheels that came up were from a pm I got from a Portuguese member who has some PF1's for sale at the moment if you're interested? Same kind of style but nicer looking IMO.

Thanks mate, I've been looking at PF01s vs RPF1s for a while and kinda prefer the RPF, it does make it look shorter with the rim but I think it suits the car better for some reason. Everyone has a different taste I guess cheers tho!

By 5he time you've fetched them in and paid shipping/duty ect you wont be far short of the £1200.

Have you tried Performance Alloys? Quick look shows these coming in at around £960 (silver) http://www.performancealloys.com/whe...ails.aspx?ID=1

When I was speaking to them (Louise) on the phone last week, they apparently get them in from the States inside 4-5 days. Prices include shipping.

Got mine last week (4x 17x9 +45). They took 3 days from California! all in with import tax £800. Ordered with Cozy_racing on ebay, which is a sister company of LSD Motorsport.
