Rough Idle after decellerating
I have had this problem for a couple of weeks, but its begining to get on my nerves.
My car idles ok and at the correct speed (approx 850 when warm) when at a standstill. But when I decellerate quickly (i.e up to a roundabout or junction) and then depress the clutch, it almost stalls (its not my clutch timing btw ) It soon recovers, in a second max to the correct revs. The same thing occurs if I am at a standstill out of gear and blip the throttle.
VTEC is fine, running at speed is fine, kangarooing is normal and not very frequent, so I think the PRM is all ok and the car is an 01 with 26500 miles on it. Regularly serviced etc.
It is due a service soon, so I will ask them to look at it, but I'd like to have some idea beforehand so I can point them in the right direction.
I HAVE had a quick search () and found a couple of posts regarding generally rough idling, but mine is fine once it has settled itself. Just that it drops right down to 100 or so revs before it rights itself.
Any ideas?

First thing to try is a simple ECU reset. The ECU does some learning for idle control, so it'll start from scratch. If it does stall, don't worry - it should learn from it. If the problem persists, you've only 500m to your next service so get Honda to check it. (Could be a sticking idle control valve, for one.). It's easiest to diagnose with the right diagnostic kit hooked up to the ECU.

OK, Thanks for the input. I take it that an ECU reset is most easily accomplished by a battery disconnect for a few mins?? (maybe I should do a search on that one )

i have found that most cars will do this when the throttle body is dirty or oiled up. my "S" seams to have the same symptons since i fitted the cai. (now ok). easy check is to take the air intake hose off the throttle body, open the throttle and spray in some carb cleaner, wipe clean with a small clean paint brush. dry and refit all parts. could be the cure !
