Rotrex S/C or Mase Turbo
#11
I've always wanted a turbo and what better car to have it on! Turbo sounds and a convertible....Come on!!!! I've been eyeing Vx220 Turbos before I started considering to buy an S.
I agree with MB regarding further upgrades...you are doubling the original power figure, not much of the standard stuff would last very long. Brakes especially, they are good, but I think you would need a BBK.
Also an idea on how much to get fitted would need to be factored in. I think the TTS Rotrex setup cost

Controlling boost actuator?
Sounds good to me. The price of the kit is very attractive.

The car will be an absolute joy to drive, street, road course, drag strip.

For a pure track car I'd want a big PSI charger, just for throttle response.
But for anything else, the extra power of the turbo just whips it.
I need to have a go in one of the turbo'ed cars, to feel how fluffy the throttle now is.

Mase, so your recommending it to be professionally fitted? or can it be DIY'ed like the comp/vortec kits.
Bibbs, wait till you see how response the GT30R turbo is, the superchargers dont hit full boost till redline. they dont have much midrange. spool is almost instanteous when you're in the mid to upper rpm range on this turbo setup.

The SC was so predictable on the throttle sliding it about at Nur. If this kit is 90% of that I'll be more than happy.

cant comment on the turbo but very happy with the rotrex, plenty of torque without changing the feel of the rev happy engine
looking at the price i would say they break even if you paid to have the turbo fitted but correct me if im wrong you still need the engine mapped after the install so it could end up more expensive, you do get more power though so i think its just down to what you want out of the car
