roof wont close fully
i know it's not the weather to have the roof up, but it is somewhat annoying when i have to pull down on the roof.
i could be a bit too anal about this too....
ever since I've had the car, the roof has been very slowly getting worse.
when i close the roof, it sits about 0.5" away from the top of the screen and requires a tug to get it seated properly. i then fasten the drivers-side latch.
the passenger side requires a slight tug sideways for it to initially engage it's locating pin, then i can proceed to fasten the passenger side latch.
when i got the car in October '07 i could put roof up, latch it both sides without pulling/yanking/adjusting the roof position. that was with worn striker plates though.
new striker plates were bought and fitted around xmas time.
is it normal to have to manually 'seat' the roof?

There are two adjusters just behind the seats on each side.
These are stops to set how far the roof is allowed to go forward.
I re-set mine when I had a new roof.
Maybe one of yours has got loose and moved.
You just need to pull off the plastic trim at the rear of the doors( one screw at bottom and seat belt fixing IIRC)to get to them.

tried the lubrication. i thought it could of been this. zero difference though.
also, how much free play should be in the roof mechanism? if the roof is folded 75% down, i have around 3-4" of free play in the mechanism.
i've found 1 adjustment in the honda manual which i've done (the stops on either side of the roof mechanism so it stops in the correct place) - no difference again..... EDIT: as per Shopmans post ^^
it's certainly liveable, im just wondering if theres someway to adjust to get it back to how it used tobe, or if im stuck with this minor annoyance

I have that with mine - ever since I fitted the new strikers too.
TBH, I don't care - take about 2 seconds longer which is nothing in order to have a no noise roof
