Thanks for the info but ....Bugger it !!

I thought this was going to be straightforward but judging by the strange list on the quote, I'm not convinced its something the dealer is experienced in. I think he may be trying to scare me off

Is the actual roof knackered, or just the window?
If you can bear to replace with another plastic one, Brighton Honda told me shortly after I'd bought mine....

"don't worry too much if the rear window goes cloudy / creased and you can't polish it out (by the way the stuff that BMW sell for the Z3 is the best ). We know someone who can do you a replacement for about

No its worn on the 'shoulder'.

When you say Brighton Honda, do you mean the guys on the roundabout near Shoreham Airport / M&S / Tesco??

Are they any good ?

The window is much smaller in the >02's so you can't replace it.
I know that!!! I was thinking more of replacing the whole rear panel that the screen is attached to. Can this not be removed and replaced with a glass screen panel as shown below???

Not sure you can actually remove that section pie. Although it is shown "exploded"

Just try BAS International in Wales. I know they have just developed an apparently very good quality glass screen replacement for the early Boxsters. They do not list the s2000 but it may be worth ringing to see a) if any plans in the pipeline and b) If not then perhaps they can give you some info on retro fitting. I know that the Boxster roof came in around the 900 quid mark fitted and he was offering a discount for a group buy. Maybe he may develop one if theres money in it for him. www.bas-international.com

Yes it can be removed, as this is the procedure for replacing cracked plastic screens, what I want to know is can a glass insert be substitued easily

Normal that a stealer will try to lube you up and screw you over ?

My experience is they normally go in dry.
