Default Roof Switch Removal

Can anyone advise me on the procedure for removing the roof switch on a 05. I just need to get to the wiring to carry out a mode.
Thank you.

Another 'allo 'allo post!, you need to download the service manual from the Tech FAQ 2nd or third page, it's PDF format.

Remove gear knob
Lift up centre console
Disconnect wires
There are a couple of Phillips head screws that secure the switch...

...Easy peasy

Sorry off topic, but why would you want to remove the switch? How would you get the roof down?

Not at all difficult to get to, just be firm but not reckless otherwise you will snap the plastic retention clips!

Sounds like a plan! Let us know how you get on, just one question, how are you going to deal with the roof catches?

That does sound like a good idea, suppose you would have to leave the roof catches open when you get out the car though.

Slightly off topic but has any one worked out a way to make the windows come back up once the roof has finished closing? It irks me slightly.

Steve, I know what you mean, but I think the catches need to be secured before raising them again (it pushes the roof away), so doing this automatically would be troublesome?
