Default Roof problem.....saw new colour!!!!

Hi,

Took my s2 into Honda for them to look at the roof (doesn't seem to go down all the way when it's cold) and they found no problems with it. They even kept it over night to see if it made any difference in the cold. They measured it against the 2 new ones they had in the showroom and apparently mine went down the lowest, so it is a "wear in" type thing. Anyway, went to pick it up after having to drive around in a Mazda Premacy for 2 days (never again!!!) and they had the new Imola Orange Pearl and it looks absolutely gorgeous!!!!!

Just had to say it - if I was gonna be buying a new one now - I think I would go for the orange, it looks sooooo much better in the flesh.

Well that's it for me!!!

Later

Alison

Alison,

The hood needs to be good and warm to drop all the way. In this weather I tend to drop the top, raise it a little and then drop it again. That seems to settle it. After driving for a while it sits further down.

In the summer (if we get one ), my roof always folds completely first time.

So I don't think you've got anything wrong, and I don't think it's a wear in thing either, just the way the hood material works when cold (less than 10 deg C).

I agree.
For the last couple of meets it has been very cold and the roof does take time to go down fully.
On monday i left the car in the sun as it was a gorgeous day and the rook went down completely first time, so heat does make all the difference.

My roof has never gone down fully in cold weather and I thought it was getting worse. Last few days it has worked perfectly though, even with the chilly starts!

Can't wait to see the orange too - saw a TVR in that colour recently and it looked good.

I've never had a problem with the hood not folding down properly in the cold & the hood is down quiet often

Not sure about the imola orange , its nice and all that but could you really live with it 24 hours a day, every day !!

The Orange is really nice - much much nicer than it looks in pictures, if I was in the market for a new one I think I would have to go for it
