Roof Motor
I've been reading in the archives about the problem of the roof not fully retracting in the cold (which mine tends to do). Does anyone know if you can damage the motor by trying to continue retraction once the roof is in the 'stuck' position?

Id say you would strain it but they are very powerful, I am sure something else would give first.
I notice your car is 2002 is yours the first of the glass window models?
If so be careful, the reason for not going down all the way is because the glass hasnt seated correctly.
If you really must put the roof down, run the car with the heater on full for 10 minutes (to warm up the roof) then take the roof down semi-manually.
Lift the roof 1/2 way and then get out and manually tuck all the folds in, take it another few inches and then ensure the glass is seating (tucking in towards the rear of the car) and then go the rest.

Thnaks guys. Aqua - I'm aware of the warming up procedure, I just wondered if we needed to be careful with the motor, as if you're not careful you don't know whether it's too cold or not until the hoods got stuck and you're potentially stressing the motor.
