Mine (Monsoon) started doing this recently too, as well as banging on the roll hoops. I must get it back down there to be sorted at some point.

Its really strange too as the roof has been swapped over from my old car. On the old car it was perfect and folder the correct way. This one doesnt. I can't see what has changed though as the whole roof and frame was swapped. The only thing I can think of is that the strap elastic has perished during the winter months due to frost as it was stored in an open barn.

Could it be anything else other than the elastic straps?

Try lowering the roof whilst pushing the bar down with your hand... if it folds nicely you've found the problem.

It's definitely that then. Best go and find some new, elasticated strap material.

I'd love to get this sorted, so no more pushing the bar back!
Same here since having mine fitted by him a couple of weeks ago. I put it down to it being new and still quite taut. Noticed yesterday that the mentioned elastic is very slack.

Something else for me to have a look at!

Does anyone have any ideas where I could buy something like this from rather than me having to order online?

Yoshi - exactly my thoughts! "It's new and will work properly after a few ups and downs"

Great minds eh!

At least the S2Ki massive are on the case now, between us we'll get it sorted!

Has anyone contacted Jack Smith to ask him to correct the problem?

This will teach me to take the micky out of Loftust’s lingerie. Mine gone!!!

I’ve just spent £2.60 on a metre of 2” elastic, so I’m going to do my own, does anyone know how long the replacement should be rivet to rivet? I might try zooming up the picture on the modify site and going by that I recon the “magic glue they use to hold the wire in is super glue, will have a go tomorrow and post up the results.

Loftust you have PM. your box is full!

Dont supppose you remember the length rivet to rivet and is it at "maximum tension" with the roof up? I hope to do a copy of (sorry tribute to) the modify system tomorrow so if you can remember it would be a help I'll post up a how to when done.
