Hi all,

With the roof down and the weather being very cold I had all the settings on max and the "roof down" setting on.

I then came in to some stop start traffic and suddenly the all the windows immediately steamed up

I now realise that with no heat / air going on the windows and with a warm cabin the air soon turned to condensation on the cold windows!! Other drivers must have looked at me as some sort of fool

Not too sure if this happened to any of you guys but I am only going to use the "roof down" mode in this weather when the car is on the move i.e more than 20-30 mphs!

I am now safely in work by the way!!

Never had that before and I have driven roof down at -5C!

Keep the aircon on to stop the windows steaming up.

That'll learn you for puttin gthe roof down in freezing non summer conditions

I never use the roof down heater setting.

Prefer the full frontal setting.

Air con and roof down

Yeah going to keep the full frontal setting on from now on - but cosy mode with the wife is a passenger

PS - ive hit a dip in a road before and the whole car instantly steamed up. Odd atmospheric condition! (low level local freezing fog stuff)

If you want clear windows you have to use the air-con button. Same happens in the rain with the top up, but that's true of a lot of cars.

I too find the "top-down" setting on the ventilation pretty useless for having the top down, instead preferring the "full frontal".

Air-con is also a de-humidifier.

Always use it to clear windscreens. Also it keeps the air-con working well as non use over months can cause it to stop working properly.
